__1. Between Christ and his people.
____Mark 3:35. "For whosoever shall do the will of God, the same is my brother, and my sister, and mother."
____Mat. 25:31-40. 31, When the Son of man shall come in his glory, and all the holy angels with him, then shall he sit upon the throne of his glory:
____32, And before him shall be gathered all nations: and he shall separate them one from another, as a shepherd divideth his sheep from the goats:
____33, And he shall set the sheep on his right hand, but the goats on the left.
____34, Then shall the King say unto them on his right hand, Come, ye blessed of my Father, inherit the kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world:
____35, For I was an hungred, and ye gave me meat: I was thirsty, and ye gave me drink: I was a stranger, and ye took me in:
____36, Naked, and ye clothed me: I was sick, and ye visited me: I was in prison, and ye came unto me.
____37, Then shall the righteous answer him, saying, Lord, when saw we thee an hungred, and fed thee? or thirsty, and gave thee drink?
____38, When saw we thee a stranger, and took thee in? or naked, and clothed thee?
____39, Or when saw we thee sick, or in prison, and came unto thee?
____40, And the King shall answer and say unto them, Verily I say unto you, Inasmuch as ye have done it unto one of the least of these my brethren, ye have done it unto me.
____Heb. 2:11. "For both he that sanctifieth and they who are sanctified are all of one: for which cause he is not ashamed to call them brethren,"
__2. Between God's ministers.
____Isa. 52:8. "Thy watchmen shall lift up the voice; with the voice together shall they sing: for they shall see eye to eye, when the LORD shall bring again Zion."
____1 Cor. 3:7, 8. 7, So then neither is he that planteth any thing, neither he that watereth; but God that giveth the increase.
____8, Now he that planteth and he that watereth are one: and every man shall receive his own reward according to his own labour.
__3. Between all his people.
____1 Cor. 1:10. "Now I beseech you, brethren, by the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, that ye all speak the same thing, and that there be no divisions among you; but that ye be perfectly joined together in the same mind and in the same judgment."
____Rom. 15:5, 6. 5, Now the God of patience and consolation grant you to be likeminded one toward another according to Christ Jesus:
____6, That ye may with one mind and one mouth glorify God, even the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ.
____Gal. 3:28. "And the scripture, foreseeing that God would justify the heathen through faith, preached before the gospel unto Abraham, saying, In thee shall all nations be blessed."
II. Bible Unity Consists In
__1. All possessing one spirit.
____1 Cor. 6:17. "But he that is joined unto the Lord is one spirit."
____Phil. 1:27. "Only let your conversation be as it becometh the gospel of Christ: that whether I come and see you, or else be absent, I may hear of your affairs, that ye stand fast in one spirit, with one mind striving together for the faith of the gospel;"
__2. All possessing one spiritual mind.
____2 Cor. 13:11. "Finally, brethren, farewell. Be perfect, be of good comfort, be of one mind, live in peace; and the God of love and peace shall be with you."
____1 Pet. 3:8. "Finally, be ye all of one mind, having compassion one of another, love as brethren, be pitiful, be courteous:"
____1 Cor. 2:16. "For who hath known the mind of the Lord, that he may instruct him? but we have the mind of Christ."
__3. All possessing one faith.
____Eph.4:5. "One Lord, one faith, one baptism,"
____Jude 3. "Beloved, when I gave all diligence to write unto you of the common salvation, it was needful for me to write unto you, and exhort you that ye should earnestly contend for the faith which was once delivered unto the saints."
__4. All being baptized into the one body---the church of God / family of God.
____1 Cor. 12:13-20. 13, For by one Spirit are we all baptized into one body, whether we be Jews or Gentiles, whether we be bond or free; and have been all made to drink into one Spirit.
____14, For the body is not one member, but many.
____15, If the foot shall say, Because I am not the hand, I am not of the body; is it therefore not of the body?
____16, And if the ear shall say, Because I am not the eye, I am not of the body; is it therefore not of the body?
____17, If the whole body were an eye, where were the hearing? If the whole were hearing, where were the smelling?
____18, But now hath God set the members every one of them in the body, as it hath pleased him.
____19, And if they were all one member, where were the body?
____20, But now are they many members, yet but one body.
____Rom. 12:4, 5. 4, For as we have many members in one body, and all members have not the same office:
____5, So we, being many, are one body in Christ, and every one members one of another.
____1 Cor. 12:20-23. 20, But now are they many members, yet but one body.
____21, And the eye cannot say unto the hand, I have no need of thee: nor again the head to the feet, I have no need of you.
____22, Nay, much more those members of the body, which seem to be more feeble, are necessary:
____23, And those members of the body, which we think to be less honourable, upon these we bestow more abundant honour; and our uncomely parts have more abundant comeliness.
__5. All speaking the same thing.
____1 Cor. 1:10. "Now I beseech you, brethren, by the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, that ye all speak the same thing, and that there be no divisions among you; but that ye be perfectly joined together in the same mind and in the same judgment."
____Rom. 15:6. "That ye may with one mind and one mouth glorify God, even the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ."
__6. All working together in promoting God's cause.
____Phil. 1:27. "Only let your conversation be as it becometh the gospel of Christ: that whether I come and see you, or else be absent, I may hear of your affairs, that ye stand fast in one spirit, with one mind striving together for the faith of the gospel;"
III. Christ Prayed For The Unity Of His People.
____John 17:17, 20-23.
____17, Sanctify them through thy truth: thy word is truth.
____20, Neither pray I for these alone, but for them also which shall believe on me through their word;
____21, That they all may be one; as thou, Father, art in me, and I in thee, that they also may be one in us: that the world may believe that thou hast sent me.
____22, And the glory which thou gavest me I have given them; that they may be one, even as we are one:
____23, I in them, and thou in me, that they may be made perfect in one; and that the world may know that thou hast sent me, and hast loved them, as thou hast loved me.
IV. Christ Gave His Life To Make His People One.
____John 11:52. "And not for that nation only, but that also he should gather together in one the children of God that were scattered abroad."
V. Result Of Unity Among The People Of God.
__1. It will convince the world.
____John 17:21-23. 21, That they all may be one; as thou, Father, art in me, and I in thee, that they also may be one in us: that the world may believe that thou hast sent me.
____22, And the glory which thou gavest me I have given them; that they may be one, even as we are one:
____23, I in them, and thou in me, that they may be made perfect in one; and that the world may know that thou hast sent me, and hast loved them, as thou hast loved me.
__2. Great power will be manifested among them.
____Acts 4:31-33. 31, And when they had prayed, the place was shaken where they were assembled together; and they were all filled with the Holy Ghost, and they spake the word of God with boldness.
__3. No divisions manifested.
____1 Cor. 12:25, 26. 25, That there should be no schism in the body; but that the members should have the same care one for another.
____26, And whether one member suffer, all the members suffer with it; or one member be honoured, all the members rejoice with it.
