Many of these man made creeds and doctrines are formulated to accommodate the life that people want to live and justify the sins they want to commit. In the end, they cause nothing but confusion and create more questions than answers to those who seek nothing but the truth.
On realising the deception and lies of the denomination a person has been a part of, they are then faced with a very difficult task – to learn the truth. A person must push aside any bias they have developed over time, any pre-conceived ideas and opinions and they must be willing to believe the truth no matter what the expense. This is the only way to break free from false religion.
Please allow me to share a couple of thoughts that helped me to break loose from the false doctrines and the teachings of men.
1. I HAVE LEARNED THAT IF I WANT THE TRUTH I MUST DARE TO BELIEVE GOD
If you are ever going to break loose from false doctrine, you must start by steadfastly resolving to believe God's Word no matter what you have been taught in the past. Remember that God's thoughts are higher than our thoughts.
To the natural mind there are some things in the Word of God that are not easily understood, there are some things that to the natural mind even appear foolish, but you must resolve, be steadfastly determined to follow God and His Word. Your attitude must be that God knows best. He knows your and my tomorrow. You must walk absolutely in the knowledge God does not lie.
The way some who claim to be Christians today talk and live, they make God out to be a liar. When you speak to them concerning holiness and God standards concerning our lives upon the earth, they say "well, I don't believe that". Well then, they have made God out to be a liar. No matter how foolish God's Word appears to my human reasoning I must have a steadfast resolve to believe Him.
We read in.... Isaiah 55:8-9 For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways, saith the LORD. For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways, and my thoughts than your thoughts.
2. IT IS IMPOSSIBLE TO TRAIN THE HUMAN MIND IN SPIRITUAL THINGS No amount of the human principles of education can train a person in spiritual things. The truth of God must be spiritually discerned. The Bible tells us that we are to train up children in the way of the Lord. Does that make them saved? Does it make them spiritual? In both cases the answer is no.
Training them up in the physical sense helps them to act properly, and to have steadfastness in their lives, but they do not become spiritual, able to discern spiritual things, until they are born again.
The truth of God can only be found in the heavenly place. It must be revealed by the Spirit of God.
We read in.... 1 Corinthians 2:11-14 For what man knoweth the things of a man, save the spirit of man which is in him? even so the things of God knoweth no man, but the Spirit of God. Now we have received, not the spirit of the world, but the spirit which is of God; Which things also we speak, not in the Words which man's wisdom teacheth, but which the Holy Ghost teacheth; comparing spiritual things with spiritual. But the natural man receiveth not the things of the Spirit of God: for they are foolishness unto him: neither can he know them, because they are spiritually discerned.
Natural, physical or earthy things can be understood by the natural man. Man can be trained, he can be taught to read and write and do arithmetic. But he cannot be trained in spiritual things. The spiritual things must be revealed from the heavenly place. We read this concerning the revelation Peter received in.... Matthew 16:15-17... He saith unto them, But whom say ye that I am?
And Simon Peter answered and said, Thou art the Christ, the Son of the living God.
And Jesus answered and said unto him, Blessed art thou, Simon Barjona: for flesh and blood hath not revealed it unto thee, but my Father which is in heaven.
Each time God's people have tried to put spiritual truth into systems of humanistic education it has always led to compromise, resulting in apostasy. No matter which group you look at, from the _________s to the _________, they began to compromise when they built centres of spiritual teaching rather than allowing the Spirit of God and the Word to be both the Revealer and Teacher. Centres of spiritual education, seminaries and Bible colleges are just tools each individual sect or denomination uses to push their own teaching. It has resulted in the Body of Christ being scattered into different sects and denominations with their own individual teachings and belief systems
3. EACH SAVED PERSON HAS RECEIVED AN UNCTION FROM THE HOLY ONE TO KNOW ALL THINGS
We read in.... 1 John 2:20, 27 But ye have an unction from the Holy One, and ye know all things.
But the anointing which ye have received of him abideth in you, and ye need not that any man teach you: but as the same anointing teacheth you of all things, and is truth, and is no lie, and even as it hath taught you, ye shall abide in him. John is obviously not teaching that we do not need the Ministry of teaching, for he himself was teaching. What he is saying is that those that do teach are to be vessels through whom the Spirit of God speaks as we read in both....
Acts 2:4... And they were all filled with the Holy Ghost, and began to speak with other tongues, as the Spirit gave them utterance.
And.... John 14:17 Even the Spirit of truth; whom the world cannot receive, because it seeth him not, neither knoweth him: but ye know him; for he dwelleth with you, and shall be in you.
The understanding of these three points, has helped me to break loose from false religion. False religion is nothing but confusion. We say that those in false religion are in spiritual Babylon, which means confusion. In these last days, the time of the Evening Light, God is calling His people out of Babylon, under the ministry of the 7th Trumpet, and gathering them together into one Body, His Church, the family of God. A gathering or congregation of God's family is a gathering of God's people who have no creed, no rule book, no standard, but the Bible, the Word of God.
There are just a couple more points that I believe will help you receive and understand divine truth. In the Revelation of Jesus Christ we read this.... Revelations 1:1...
The Revelation of Jesus Christ, which God gave unto him, to shew unto his servants things which must shortly come to pass; and he sent and signified it by his angel unto his servant John: The heading in your Bible will say something like “The Revelation of St. John the Divine”. This is clearly not the truth as the first line of the first verse gives us the true title – The Revelation of Jesus Christ. In this first verse we see who receives, and how, divine truth is received.
Firstly we see that the revelation of the truth is by Jesus Christ only, and revealed to us by the Holy Spirit. The Holy Spirit is the "angel" of the Lord in this verse. We read this truth in.... John 16:13-14 Howbeit when he, the Spirit of truth, is come, he will guide you into all truth: for he shall not speak of himself; but whatsoever he shall hear, that shall he speak: and he will shew you things to come. He shall glorify me: for he shall receive of mine, and shall shew it unto you. Secondly we see that the understanding of divine truth is given only to the servants of the Lord. They are the saints of God, living with victory over sin, self and the devil. We read concerning the mystery, which is Jesus Christ in.... Colossians 1:26-27... Even the mystery which hath been hid from ages and from generations, but now is made manifest to his saints: To whom God would make known what is the riches of the glory of this mystery among the Gentiles; which is Christ in you, the hope of glory: The unveiling or revealing of the truth is for all who are servants of Jesus Christ, meaning all who are born again and living free from sinning. His saints are those who have a continuous overcoming experience over sin, self and the devil.
Again we read in Romans 6:22... But now being made free from sin, and become servants to God, ye have your fruit unto holiness, and the end everlasting life.
This understanding concerning sin was not lost to Daniel. He knew the importance of the sin free life as a prerequisite to understanding divine truth. Before he receives the revelation of the 70 weeks he is praying. The burden of his prayer, before Gabriel that gives him the revelation, is sin....
Daniel 9:20-23... And whiles I was speaking, and praying, and confessing my sin and the sin of my people Israel, and presenting my supplication before the LORD my God for the holy mountain of my God; Yea, whiles I was speaking in prayer, even the man Gabriel, whom I had seen in the vision at the beginning, being caused to fly swiftly, touched me about the time of the evening oblation. And he informed me, and talked with me, and said, O Daniel, I am now come forth to give thee skill and understanding. At the beginning of thy supplications the commandment came forth, and I am come to shew thee; for thou art greatly beloved: therefore understand the matter, and consider the vision.
Thirdly we must realise that much concerning prophecy and revelation is given to us in symbolic language. The book of Revelations is a book of symbols. God uses symbolism throughout the Bible as a means to reveal divine truth. The reason for this is because people can interpret words in many different ways. Symbols on the other hand have only one meaning and so cannot be confused if the Bible is allowed to give the interpretation of the symbols.
And finally the last point is that you must not only put the Word in your mouth, you must chew, and, swallow it. We must be both hearers and doers of the Word of God. The blessing given to those who open up the book of Revelations is based upon doing.... Revelations 1:3, Blessed is he that readeth, and they that hear the Words of this prophecy, and keep those things which are written therein: for the time is at hand. In Isaiah we are told God’s method of teaching us in... Isaiah 28:9-14a... Whom shall he teach knowledge? and whom shall he make to understand doctrine? them that are weaned from the milk, and drawn from the breasts. For precept must be upon precept, precept upon precept; line upon line, line upon line; here a little, and there a little: For with stammering lips and another tongue will he speak to this people. To whom he said, This is the rest wherewith ye may cause the weary to rest; and this is the refreshing: yet they would not hear. But the Word of the LORD was unto them precept upon precept, precept upon precept; line upon line, line upon line; here a little, and there a little; that they might go, and fall backward, and be broken, and snared, and taken. Wherefore hear the Word of the LORD
Notice, God gives us His truth line upon line, precept upon precept, here a little and there little. God wants us to "eat, and, chew" His Word. Paul the apostle encouraged Timothy to the essential truth that we must study to show ourselves approved. We must dig out the truth.
2 Timothy 2:15... Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth. The Word of God is clear that to rightly divide the word of truth we must study God’s Word. This would suggest that those who do not study are not approved unto God and cannot rightly divide the word of truth. They incorrectly divide the word of truth. This means they take portions of the scriptures, draw incorrect conclusions from it and therefore are led astray with false doctrines. The peril with this, is that it is not only detrimental to their own soul, but is also detrimental to any soul they teach their false doctrine to. There are many false ministers in the world who lead thousands, perhaps even millions astray on the road that leads to destruction because they would not study. These false prophets will be held accountable for every soul they have led astray. Study of God’s Word combined with prayer, is essential in being an approved workman (worker of the gospel) unto God. It is through study that you will understand the truth and break free of false religion.
