"God's gifts in nature have their limitations. They are finite because they have been created, but the gift of eternal life in Christ Jesus is as limitless as God. The Christian possesses God's own life and shares His infinitude with Him. In God there is life enough for all and time enough to enjoy it. Whatever is possessed of natural life runs through its cycle from birth to death and ceases to be, but the life of God returns upon itself and ceases never. And this is life eternal to know the only true God, and Jesus Christ whom He has sent." ---A.W. Tozer
What a rush - to contemplate infinity. I loved the definitions from the dictionary:
Infinity: 1a: the quality of being infinite. b: unlimited extent of time, space, or quantity: boundlessness. 2:an indefinitely great number or amount. 3: (I love this one) a: the limit of the value of a function or variable when it tends to become numerically larger than any preassigned finite number b: a part of a geometric magnitude that lies beyond any part whose subtance from a given reference position is finite: a transfinite number. (but this has got to be my favorite) a distance so great that the rays of light from a point source at that distance may be regarded as parallel.
Sooo - since we have established that infinity is NOT comprehensible, shall we just sit back and enjoy it? JM
