Do you know why animal trainers always take a stool whenever they go into a cage full of lions?

The stool is the most important tool of the trainer. As he thrusts the legs of the stool toward the face of the lion, the lion will try to focus on all four legs of the stool at once. In doing this, a kind of paralysis overwhelms the animal and it becomes tame, weak and disabled because its attention is fragmented.

Satan uses this same technique. He distracts us with many things of this world by keeping our attention on our surroundings so that our focus is fragmented. Our focus needs to be centered on the Lord at all times. All other things need to be in our peripheral vision. Pray without ceasing is more than just a great idea; it is an essential part of our daily life.

Help me Lord, to keep my focus zeroed in on You at all times. JM
