Letting Go
[ Selected ]

To let go doesn't mean to stop caring, it means I can't do it for someone else.

To let go is not to cut myself off, it's the realization that I don't control another.

To let go is not to enable, but to allow learning from natural consequences.

To let go is to admit powerlessness, which means the outcome is not in my hands.

To let go is not to try to change or blame another, I can only change myself.

To let go is not to care for, but to care about.

To let go is not to fix, but to be supportive.

To let go is not to judge, but to allow another to be a human being.

To let go is not to be in the middle arranging all the outcomes, but to allow others to affect their own outcomes.

To let go is not to be protective, it is to permit another to face reality.

To let go is not to deny but to accept.

To let go is not to nag, scold, or argue, but to search out my own shortcomings and to correct them.

To let go is not to adjust everything to my desires but to take each day as it comes and to cherish the moment.

To let go is not to criticize and regulate anyone but to try to become what I dream I can be.

To let go is not to regret the past but to grow and live for the future.

To let go is to fear less and love more.

Installing Love

Tech Support: Yes, How can I help you?

Customer: Well, after much consideration, I've decided to install Love... Can you guide me through the process?

Tech Support: Yes, I can help you. Are you ready to proceed?

Customer: Well I'm not very technical, but I think I'm ready. What do I do first?

Tech Support: The first step is to open your heart program. Have you located your heart?

Customer: Yes, but there are several other programs running now. Is it okay to install Love while they are running?

Tech Support: What programs are running?

Customer: Let's see, I have Past Hurt, Low Self-Esteem, Grudge and Resentment running right now.

Tech Support: No problem, Love will gradually erase Past Hurt from your current operating system. It may remain in your permanent memory but it will no longer disrupt other programs. Love will eventually over ride Low Self Esteem with a module of it's own called High Self Esteem. However, you have to completely turn off Grudge and Resentment. Those programs prevent Love from being properly installed.

Customer: I don't know how to turn them off... Can you tell me how?

Tech Support: With pleasure. Go to your Start Menu and invoke Forgiveness. Do this as many times as necessary until each gruged and Resentment file has been completely erased.

Customer: Okay, done! But Love has started installing itself! Is that normal?

Tech Support: Yes, but remember that you have only the base program. You need to begin integrating with other Hearts to get the upgrades.

Customer: Oops! I already have an error message! It says; " ERROR--PROGRAM NOT RUN ON EXTERNAL COMPONENTS." What should I do?

Tech Support: Don't worry. It means that the Love Program is set up to run on Internal Hearts, but has not yet been able to run on your Heart Program. In non-technical terms, it simply means that you have to Love yourself before you can Love others.

Customer: So what should I do?

Tech support: Check your icons and pull down the Self Acceptance window. Then click on the following files: Forgive Self; Acknowledge Limitations and Discover Personal Worth.

Customer: Okay, done.

Tech Support: Now copy them to the "My Heart" directory. The system will overwrite any conflicting files and begin correcting faulty programming. Also you will need to delete Self Criticism from all directories. And empty your Recycle Bin to insure it's completely gone and can't come back.

Customer: Got it. Hey! My Heart Program is filling up with new files! Smile is playing on my monitor and Peace and Contentment are copying themselves all over My Heart. Is that normal?

Tech Support: Sometimes. For others it takes awhile until all programs are repaired. But eventually everything is installed at the proper time. Love will then be installed and running. One more thing before we hang up. Remember Love is Freeware. Be sure to give it and its various modules to everyone you meet. They will, in turn, share it with others and return some cool modified modules back to you.

Customer: Thank You, God.

Tech Support: You're welcome. Call anytime. We're always here to help!

The Power Of Satan

It would be bad enough if all a man had to contend with was his own sinful heart. That fact alone makes his natural situation hopeless. But it's worse than that. This present world order is ruled over by Satan and literally hordes of demons. They're real! And the sin (lack of Divine strength) that dwells in the hearts of men, gives Satan all the leverage he needs to rule over mankind without mercy. And so, men aren't merely slaves to the sin in their own hearts. They're also, because of that sin (lacking Divine strength), slaves to wicked spirits whose only intent is to use, abuse, and destroy them "in order to gratify their own evil natures".(?)

I've met people who had the mistaken idea that they didn't have to serve either God or the devil, that they could somehow be "free" and do what they wanted to do. Apart from the divine miracle of salvation (Divine strength) every member of the human race lives out his days under the dominion of Satan. If Satan can't rule over a man one way, he will another...whether the man is aware of it or not. Men are hopeless addicts of sin (lacking Divine strength) and all the power of Satan's kingdom is devoted to keeping them that way. And Satan knows which "buttons" to push.

In Acts 26:18 Paul recounts what happened when God "arrested" him on the Damascus road and called him to preach the gospel. His call concerning the Gentiles was "to open their eyes and turn them from darkness to light, and from the power of Satan to God...." Remember in Romans 1:21, where Paul says that as a result of choosing sin over the knowledge of God, "their foolish hearts were darkened."

2 Corinthians 4:4 says, "The god of this age has blinded the minds of unbelievers, so that they cannot see the light of the gospel of the glory of Christ, who is the image of God."

Listen to Paul's description of men in Ephesians 2:1-3: "As for you, you were dead in your transgressions and sins, in which you used to live when you followed the ways of this world and of the ruler of the kingdom of the air, the spirit who is now at work in those who are disobedient. All of us also lived among them at one time, gratifying the cravings of our sinful nature (living after the flesh) and following its desires and thoughts. Like the rest, we were by nature (without Divine strength) objects of wrath." All of us!

Ephesians 6:12 says, "For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms."

Salvation is described in Colossians 1:13 in these words: "For he has rescued us from the dominion of darkness and brought us into the kingdom of the Son he loves."

God's servant is instructed in 2 Timothy 2:25-26, "Those who oppose him he must gently instruct, in the hope that God will grant them repentance leading them to a knowledge of the truth, and that they will come to their senses and escape from the trap of the devil, who has taken them captive to do his will."

1 John 5:19 tells us that "the whole world is under the control of the evil one"...i.e. lacking Divine strength.

And so, not only are men guilty, and powerless to change, but they're also helplessly under Satan's dominion---and blind to that fact.
